I’m Donald Sinclair, the owner of DFY Business Systems, based in Brisbane Australia. With over 23 years in the plumbing and construction supplies business, I have helped many cabinet makers, builders, plumbers and architects in the S E Qld area.
Over the last few years, I noticed common issues in business. We start a business because we are skilled in our area. We may or may not have the skills to create and maintain systems which work, which maximise our effectiveness and avoid lost time and profits.
Discovering SYSTEMology in 2022 was a turning point for me, it gave me a framework which lets me offer systemic solutions that enhance business efficiency.
I was so impressed with this system I became a certified Systemologist in 2023. I was and continue to be driven by a passion for helping businesses finding the missing link to systemise their operations. *The number of systems extracted within the three-month period depends on the needs of the business and the complexity of the systems being extracted. Typically, this number is between 10 and 15 systems.
As you can imagine, this question is a difficult one to answer. All businesses are different—from the level of products and services offered to the size of the organization. That said, typically, a business can see the positive impacts from the systemization of its operations within as little as 90 days.
While it’s important for the business owner to begin the process, it is really the team that will carry this process through to completion. The SYSTEMology process was actually designed for your team. Accordingly, we recommend that businesses have a minimum of three staff members and get them all involved. This could include full-timers, part-timers, and/or contractors. For larger teams, include your leadership team and department heads to drive this forward.
The short answer is yes. SYSTEMology is industry-agnostic. The fact is, all great businesses are built on a foundation of great systems. Business systems are the building blocks of all businesses.
