Jim Carlin, business systems expert based in Brookfield, WI, USA
Certified SYSTEMologist and Founder of Systems Equal Freedom
Since starting my systemization journey in 1993, I have been dedicated to enhancing operational efficiencies across various businesses. My commitment deepened in 2023 when I began implementing SYSTEMology in my day job at a manufacturing company. This practical application has allowed us to capture critical knowledge, share it seamlessly throughout the organization, and significantly improve our order execution consistency. Most notably, the onboarding process for new employees has become notably faster, showcasing the immediate benefits of effective systemization.
Fueled by these transformative results, I founded Systems Equal Freedom to extend these benefits to other businesses. At Systems Equal Freedom, we live the principles of SYSTEMology every day. It’s not just a methodology; it’s the backbone of how we
operate and excel.

If you're like most business owners, this probably sounds familiar...
We all want our business to run with the precision of a Swiss watch, and we know systems are the key.
The trouble is that all too often, business owners get stuck in the day-to-day operations…
They think they need to be the ones to create the systems themselves, but they’re too busy working in their business to find the time.
What ends up happening is they get stuck in a loop of not having time to create systems, even though they know that having systems would create more time for them…
To get out of survival mode and systemize your business so it runs predictably without the business owner, you need a different approach.
To successfully systemize, you need:
Seven stages of business systemization.
The SYSTEMology® process is the most effective way for you to transform an owner-centric, zero-systems business into one that operates like a well-oiled machine.
It is quite literally the system for systemizing business.
Within as little as three months, a certified SYSTEMologist can document the mission-critical systems within your business.
This immediately improves your team’s efficiency, increases the value of your business, and frees the business owner from day-to-day operations.
Stop showing and correcting your staff on how to complete tasks. Document your smart operating procedures (SOPs) once, have your team follow them, and skyrocket your time efficiency and profitability.
Well-documented processes and procedures detailing your business’s “way” are the most important assets within your business—just look at McDonald’s, Subway, and Starbucks. It’s time to start building those assets!
Building a business on the foundation of well-documented systems makes it consistent, profitable, and scalable. Best of all, it allows day-to-day operations to run without you, giving you ultimate freedom.
Watch the video from SYSTEMology founder David Jenyns to learn how the seven stages of SYSTEMology work to free business owners from the day-to-day operations of their business.
The SYSTEMology book provides a proven, step-by-step business systemization framework designed so that even the busiest business owner can deploy it.
Drawing on over 20 years of business experience and real-life case studies, author David Jenyns details the path to complete business reliability.

"We documented the client onboarding process and it is used every day now. I'm grateful that I've learned SYSTEMology so young in my business career."
"We hired a new CSR last week. I was able to add her to systemHUB, after she completed the learning tracks for her role, she was able to step in and be effective right away. It saved me time and she felt good about being able to contribute quickly!"
"We only had one person, Doug, who knew how to execute the testing process for our late life cycle product. If Doug was on vacation, then the customers had to wait.
Working with Jim, we were able to capture the standard process in a couple hours. By the next week, Jim had it ready to review. Now anyone can do the process and Doug can take time off without phone calls."
All prices are in US dollars plus Australian GST where applicable.
*The number of systems extracted within the three-month period depends on the needs of the business and the complexity of the systems being extracted. Typically, this number is between 10 and 15 systems.

As you can imagine, this question is a difficult one to answer. All businesses are different—from the level of products and services offered to the size of the organization. That said, typically, a business can see the positive impacts from the systemization of its operations within as little as 90 days.
While it’s important for the business owner to begin the process, it is really the team that will carry this process through to completion. The SYSTEMology process was actually designed for your team. Accordingly, we recommend that businesses have a minimum of three staff members and get them all involved. This could include full-timers, part-timers, and/or contractors.
For larger teams, include your leadership team and department heads to drive this forward.
The short answer is yes. SYSTEMology is industry-agnostic. The fact is, all great businesses are built on a foundation of great systems. Business systems are the building blocks of all businesses. We have literally worked with hundreds of companies directly and thousands indirectly…
